Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse to join our team at Kendall Elementary School. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing assessment, intervention, and documentation for students.
  • Administer medications and provide individual health instructions.
  • Complete, process, and follow up on accident reports with students and staff.
  • Provide appropriate health-related resources and referrals.
  • Communicate with parents regarding health-related incidents.
  • Develop and implement emergency medical plans and care plans for students as needed.
  • Coordinate with the school to maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Maintain individual cumulative health records for each student, including immunizations and physical exams.
  • Ensure compliance with district policies regarding delinquent physicals and immunizations.
  • Monitor and manage reports of communicable diseases.
  • Coordinate vision and hearing screenings, as well as individual screenings upon request.
  • Oversee health supplies and equipment for each Health Office.
  • Collaborate with Certified School Nurses to address the health needs of special education students.
  • Provide in-service training and monitor staff regarding bloodborne pathogens, as mandated by OSHA.
  • Complete mandated state health reports.
Requirements
  • Valid Illinois nursing license and CPR certification.
  • Pediatric, ICU, or ER experience preferred.
