Position Overview:

A Senior Equipment Technician is tasked with the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of production machinery and facility systems as necessary.

This role is a full-time, unionized position with opportunities available for both day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct repair, maintenance, and overhaul of production machinery with minimal oversight.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with limited assistance.
  • Perform urgent repairs on production equipment during operational hours. Assess and prioritize issues, replace or fix components, and test machinery to ensure functionality.
  • Execute repairs and enhancements to facilities as needed.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
  • Ensure machinery operates at peak performance.
  • Communicate unresolved equipment problems to the supervisor.
  • Develop operating instructions for machinery as required.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Some college education or a degree from a trade school is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in MIG and TIG welding, as well as operation of milling and turning machinery, ideally within the pharmaceutical manufacturing or packaging sectors.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Capability to understand and follow instructions and perform tasks as required.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Comprehension of company Standard Operating Procedures; knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and safety protocols.
  • Thorough understanding of production systems and machinery.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to use hands for operating controls, tools, and machinery.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, or walk for extended periods. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs is necessary.
  • Vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
  • Work is conducted in production facilities with exposure to heavy machinery, pharmaceutical powders, fumes, and elevated noise levels.
  • May require movement between various production areas to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Work hours and travel may vary based on management directives.
  • Must be prepared to work in diverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and leading by example to promote a safe working environment.

$35.00 per hour.
