Albany Medical Center is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse III to join its esteemed Elective Orthopedics team. This role presents a unique opportunity to provide compassionate care to patients undergoing elective orthopedic surgery and Total Joint procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, all while adhering to company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program conferring a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, demonstrating ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
Benefits and Salary
