Pacu Tech

We are seeking a skilled Pacu Tech to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Pacu Tech, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our surgical department.

• Perform advanced patient care tasks as delegated by the RN, including IV line insertion and removal, phlebotomy, and EKGs.
• Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
• Communicate effectively with the RN and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
• Collect and process patient specimens, including urine, stool, and sputum.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to department safety policies and standard precautions.
• Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.

• Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
• Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing Assistant.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must also be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
