YOUR NEXT ROLE:

The Safety Officer is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the implementation of safety programs at job sites to ensure a secure and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular inspections of construction sites (spending up to 80% of the time in the field performing audits and engaging with teams).
  • Assist in identifying, documenting, and proposing solutions for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; ensure follow-up to confirm corrections.
  • Participate in job pre-task planning and safety meetings at job sites.
  • Support investigations of personal injury and property damage incidents.
  • Help compile data, photographs, and prepare necessary forms and reports in accordance with program procedures and regulations.
  • Issue various entry permits (e.g., confined spaces) as needed.
  • Assist in emergency rescue operations as required; maintain fire protection and grounding systems.
  • Conduct training sessions and orientations for new hires.
  • The duties outlined are indicative of the general nature and scope of work; additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the role within the business unit.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Skilled in using electronic devices (e.g., phone, tablet, computer) for safety audit software and communications.
  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up capabilities.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Capable of working under pressure and adjusting to evolving requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills appropriate for the position.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, management, vendors, clients, and others.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
  • CPR - First Aid Certification.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in safety within the construction industry.
  • A combination of training, education, and relevant work experience is acceptable.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Up to 100% (Remote Sites)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • General work conditions include sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is performed in both indoor office settings and outdoor construction environments, with varying conditions.
  • Noise levels may vary based on location.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
