As a key member of the Department's legal team, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts, agreements, and permits related to the Department's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and advice to District staff on day-to-day operations and business matters.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, agreements, and permits.
  • Research and analyze state and federal statutes, court cases, rules, and regulations affecting the Department's operations.
  • Represent the Department in claims and litigation against and by the Department.
  • Assist with responding to public records requests and subpoenas.

Requirements:

  • Must be a member of The Florida Bar.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
