Job Summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team in a travel position. As a Vascular Technologist, you will assist with vascular surgeries and procedures in the Operating Room and Hybrid Imaging suite.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with vascular surgeries and procedures in the Operating Room and Hybrid Imaging suite.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of nurses and surgical technologists for endovascular and open cases.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient operating environment by maintaining equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure a smooth and successful procedure.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital setting, with a focus on vascular procedures.
  • 1+ year of experience in interventional vascular procedures.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Registered Surgical Technologist (CRST).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a hospital setting, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials.
  • Stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and move quickly in response to emergencies.
  • Work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
