Physician Assistant

Barrow Brain & Spine is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing medical care to our patients under the supervision of a physician.
Job Summary:The Physician Assistant will be responsible for assessing patient health status, providing acute and chronic patient care, and documenting patient information and care provided. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:- Assess patient health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care plans.
- Provide acute and chronic patient care, including taking histories, doing physicals, monitoring therapies, giving injections and medications, and suturing wounds.
- Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems.
- Document patient information and care provided in the patient record.
- Educate patients and families as appropriate. Provide continuity of care.
- Participate in rounds at the hospital and respond to patient calls received after hours and on weekends.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited physician assistant (PA) program.
- A valid unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona, with no pending disciplinary actions or restrictions.
- DEA and CPR certification required upon hire.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a physician assistant in a clinic or hospital.
- Experience in neurosurgery is strongly preferred.
The Physician Assistant will work in a medical office and exam room setting, as well as in a hospital operating room (OR) setting. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
