Salary Range
$50,000-$90,000 USD
The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3-4 days per week and may be required to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities:
The Complex Claims Specialist will manage loss time CCU level claims across multiple jurisdictions, with a significant focus on California.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge and experience in handling lost time claims.
Handle California claimsAssess compensability and/or coverage issues for workers' compensation loss time claims
Negotiate and finalize settlements under management's oversight
Collect medical and factual evidence
Coordinate and oversee the activities of external investigations
Manage outside counsel and litigation within assigned authority
Engage daily with claimants, attorneys, external investigators, rehabilitation personnel, as well as insureds, medical providers, and agents
Complete claims handling responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications:
Ability to learn claims handling procedures across multiple states
Exhibits strong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrates a positive attitude towards GUARD and the claims department
Proven ability to contribute positively and support the vision, values, and strategies of the Claims Department while working effectively in a team environment
Innovative thinker with the capacity to manage multiple tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Some travel may be required
Completion of CA designation is preferred, but AZ designation may also be considered
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
Active Adjuster license is a plus or the ability to successfully pass the Texas Adjuster licensing exam upon hire
