The Senior Neurodiagnostic Technician plays a pivotal role in the operation of advanced neurodiagnostic equipment, including Electroencephalography (EEG) systems and evoked potential devices, to capture and analyze the brain's electrical activity.

Key Responsibilities

This role encompasses the full spectrum of neurodiagnostic procedures, with an emphasis on leadership and supervisory duties. As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the EEG team, managing workload assessments, and ensuring the quality of all neurodiagnostic studies. The technician will consistently produce high-quality recordings, even in challenging environments such as research settings, intraoperative monitoring, or intensive care units. The responsibilities include:
  • Executing both routine and specialized neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG, long-term monitoring, and evoked potential testing in various clinical settings.
  • Conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting of EEG and video monitoring equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with equipment vendors and biomedical engineering teams to support and maintain the functionality of diagnostic tools.
  • Coordinating patient schedules for neurodiagnostic testing, ensuring clear communication with patients and their families regarding procedures.
  • Adhering to established protocols and administrative guidelines for each test conducted.
  • Working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication regarding testing indications, outcomes, and laboratory policies.
  • Participating in on-call duties as needed.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned within the scope of practice.
