We are looking for a driven Packaging Designer to join a leading company in the corrugated packaging sector. This pivotal role involves crafting packaging solutions for various materials, including structured films, folding cartons, and industrial films such as shrink and polyolefin. If you possess expertise in 2D CAD, materials science, and manufacturing processes, we encourage you to explore this opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the sales team by developing packaging products that address customer challenges, including cost efficiency, waste reduction, safety improvements, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Drive revenue growth by designing, developing, testing, and validating packaging solutions tailored to customer requirements and operational enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, structural, design, and aesthetic standards set by clients.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various packaging substrates, including film, corrugated materials, foam, wood, and glass.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to visit customer sites and gain insights into their packaging needs.
  • Assist in closing sales by providing appealing packaging designs that resolve client issues.
  • Deliver prompt responses, quotes, and designs to support the Sales Department's objectives.
  • Work closely with sales and procurement teams to source relevant products.
  • Stay informed about sustainability trends and communicate updates to the team regarding products, vendors, and options.
  • Utilize CAD and design software to produce innovative packaging solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and product data.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding project strategies, adjustments, and progress.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with a strong emphasis on 2D design.
  • Relevant experience in the packaging industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and substrates, including corrugated, folding cartons, structured films, and industrial films.
  • Experience in product design utilizing a comprehensive range of packaging materials.
  • Familiarity with testing laboratories to ensure quality in shipping and handling processes.
  • Solid understanding of equipment design and capabilities to optimize operations and product quality.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
