Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our esteemed team at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale (MHC). This role involves providing exceptional nursing care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Certification Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Additional unit-specific certifications as applicable
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide care for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures, with the ability to float to general OR as needed.
  • Work schedule includes Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and shared on-call responsibilities.
  • Assess and address the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients and their families, providing necessary explanations and instructions.
  • Utilize clinical judgment to identify and report changes in patient conditions promptly.
  • Foster a positive workplace environment through effective conflict management and professional communication.
  • Ensure compliance with Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Job Requirements
  • Prior experience as a CVOR nurse is essential, with flexibility in the level of experience considered.
Schedule Information
  • Standard 8-hour shifts with on-call duties shared with another CVOR nurse.
Unit Specific Information
  • Flexibility in unit assignments is required, including Intensive Care, Progressive Care, and Cardiac Services.
  • Relevant unit-specific certifications are advantageous.
