Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain medical instruments, equipment, and sterile environments for procedures.
  • Assist physicians and procedural teams in implementing perioperative plans of care.
  • Identify factors relative to patient age and developmental stage that must be considered during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare endoscopy rooms, including opening supplies, instruments, and devices based on scheduled procedures and physician preference cards.
  • Exercise care in the operation and use of instruments/equipment and report any issues.
  • Follow OSHA and hospital infection control policies at all times.
  • Maintain continuing education by complying with mandatory re-orientation and keeping educational profiles up to date.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to critique practice and pursue improvement opportunities.
  • Take corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions occur and report information to the circulating nurse.
  • Demonstrate understanding of scope mechanics and scope reprocessing, including High Level Disinfection.
  • Assist with the flow of daily operations by accepting assignments and reassignments.
Requirements
  • Education: High school or equivalent.
  • Certification: BLS from AHA upon start.
