Job Summary

The Lead Preschool Educator will be responsible for maintaining a positive and supportive educational environment, creating a program that meets the intellectual and emotional needs of all children, and working closely with the Head of School to ensure our program provides education, physical health, emotional well-being, and parental involvement services to all enrolled scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Safety and Well-being of Children: Respond to the academic, cognitive, social-emotional, and physical needs of each scholar.
  • Implement Developmentally Appropriate Practice: Utilize best practice methods at all times to promote the development of young children.
  • Model Professional Behavior: Be a positive role model for all caregiving staff and scholars.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Engage scholars in activities and play that stimulates their development, and establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care and friendly service.
  • Supervise and Mentor Staff: Supervise Assistant Teachers in the classroom, ensure they are following program policy and customer service expectations, and mentor them in their duties and responsibilities.
  • Plan and Implement Curriculum: Plan daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children, complying with Creative Curriculum, and implement it in a highly effective and impactful manner.
  • Assess and Evaluate Children: Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences to ensure the academic and social-emotional growth of each scholar.
  • Communicate with Parents: Prepare monthly parent newsletters and weekly lesson plans according to policy, and maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times.
  • Comply with Accreditation Standards: Comply with AdvancEd Accreditation Standards and professional development requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • CDA or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in a teaching capacity and lesson planning.
  • Passionate about the development and well-being of children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
