Job Overview

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking a skilled Upholstery Designer I to join our team. As a key member of our new style design team, you will be responsible for creating all residential designs in the four major categories of rocker recliners, motion sofas, occasional units, and stationary sofas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute specific upholstery and polymer requirements for new products.
  • Collaborate with the new style design team to create all required manufacturing and training documentation.
  • Participate in the implementation of approved products into designated manufacturing facilities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Furniture upholstery skills.
  • SolidWorks knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret part prints.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or equivalent field of study.
  • Overall furniture manufacturing process knowledge.

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to sit, repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, walk, and balance. Seldom required to bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladders, kneel, squat, reach overhead, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
