Position Overview
Atrium Health is at the forefront of community-oriented academic healthcare, serving the regions of North Carolina and South Carolina. We are looking for a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our esteemed GI & Hepatology team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Role Details:
- Focus on adult medicine exclusively
- Full-time clinic role, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a half-day for administrative tasks; expected to manage 16 patients daily
- Collaborative clinic environment with two physicians and three APPs
- Participation in a nightly call rotation, averaging once every four weeks, shared among fellow APPs
- Conduct outpatient evaluations and manage medication for adult patients over 18 years old with both acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
Candidate Profile:
- Experienced APP with a minimum of two years in Gastroenterology preferred
- Physician Assistant: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; a Master's Degree is preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is mandatory.
- Nurse Practitioner: A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice is required, along with a valid Registered Nurse license. Certification in the relevant practice area from a recognized certifying body is essential, as is Acute Care board certification based on the patient population served.
- APP with strong critical thinking and interpersonal abilities
- Capable of working independently in a clinical setting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions proactively
