Position Summary:

This role entails the secure and efficient transportation of shipping containers and mobile offices to various client locations. The responsibilities include local delivery of containers and supplies, as well as loading, unloading, and ensuring the safety of the transported items. The position also involves assisting with tasks such as cable rolling, inventory management, and supporting customer loading/unloading operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and exemplifies the core values of Texas First Rentals, LLC to ensure alignment with the company’s mission and vision.
  • Safely delivers and retrieves shipping containers and mobile offices for clients in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Utilizes appropriate securing methods such as chaining, strapping, and blocking in compliance with established safety protocols.
  • Conducts thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and report any issues.
  • Documents vehicle defects, accidents, or any traffic violations promptly.
  • Performs basic maintenance tasks, including adding fluids and executing minor repairs as necessary.
  • Accurately completes required daily logs and trip documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Handles minor troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions at job sites.
  • Demonstrates safe equipment operation to clients upon delivery.
  • Secures necessary signatures on rental agreements and delivery documentation.
  • Assists with yard operations, inventory management, and various shop activities as required.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of industrial engines, transportation, and safe driving practices.
  • Familiarity with Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT guidelines.
  • Proficient in using current software and electronic systems related to the job.
  • Knowledge of tools and machinery, including their maintenance and repair.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to assess customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Quality control skills to evaluate service and performance standards.
  • Ability to operate equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Competence in reading maps and utilizing GPS technology.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and prioritizes safety.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools effectively.
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of verifiable driving experience, including over-the-road operations.
  • Valid Class A CDL driver’s license required.
  • Experience in operating delivery trucks and towing trailers safely in various environments.


Supervisory Role:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Travel Requirements:

  • Daily travel is expected, potentially up to 100%.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of limbs and manual dexterity is required.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and maneuver under equipment safely.
