Radiation Protection Tech Job Summary

Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is seeking a Radiation Protection Tech to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing radiological surveys on primary, secondary, auxiliary systems, plant buildings, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide contamination and dose control
  • Track radiation exposure for personnel and work tasks
  • Determine methods to reduce radiation exposure
  • Provide radiation protection coverage for work tasks
  • Establish worker stay times
  • Establish radiological work requirements
  • Respond to off-normal conditions
  • Maintain radiation exposures ALARA
  • Maintain radiation exposures within regulatory and administrative requirements
  • Support the RWP program
Requirements:
  • Minimum education: B.S. Degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum experience: Senior Health Physics Technician (6 years commercial nuclear experience) or Health Physics Technician 3 (4 years commercial nuclear experience)
  • Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: Meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978, proficiency with current computer business applications
