This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to make a meaningful impact in students' lives. As an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with students, teachers, and other school staff to develop and implement strategies that enhance students' ability to succeed in the classroom.

About the Role:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs, ensuring they receive personalized support to reach their full potential.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working collaboratively with students, teachers, and families to achieve shared goals.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions to students, either one-on-one or in small groups, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and families to support students' goals, promoting a seamless transition between academic and therapeutic settings.
  • Document progress and maintain compliance with school and state regulations, ensuring accurate records and effective outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on therapy goals and progress, and contributing to the development of comprehensive education plans.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (for OT) or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting (for COTA).
  • Current California OT license (for OT) or COTA license (for COTA).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in school settings or with pediatric populations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, teachers, and families.
