Wastewater Superintendent

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Superintendent to lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires a strong background in wastewater treatment, operations, and maintenance, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, including lift station operations, plant operations, and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations and standards.
• Lead and develop a team of wastewater treatment plant operators and maintenance personnel.
• Develop and implement division policy and standard operational procedures.
• Manage contracts and costs associated with chemical treatment, mechanical maintenance, and accomplishing the work to maintain operations and sound responsible procurement and fiscal responsibility.

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.
• Requires five years increasing responsibility in the maintenance and operations of water production facilities, including a minimum of two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility field or closely related experience.
• TCEQ State Certification: Wastewater Production Operators License (Class A or Class B)
