Job Summary:The Nurse Surveyor II will assist in the enforcement of state licensing regulations for health facilities, conduct certification surveys and investigations to determine compliance with CMS regulations, and observe the quality of patient care and associated medical records.
Responsibilities:- Conduct inspections of healthcare facilities and services for licensure and certification purposes.
- Coordinate and assist in the enforcement of state licensing regulations for health facilities.
- Perform certification surveys and investigations to determine compliance with CMS regulations.
- Complete all aspects of the survey process.
- Complete training and obtain Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test certification from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare.
- Assist in the development of program information and materials.
- Observe the quality of patient care and associated medical records.
- Participate in conferences, webinars, and other types of training to improve knowledge and skills related to regulation of healthcare facilities.
- Must have two years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Must be licensed in Kentucky as a practical nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
- Ability to interpret regulations, policy and procedures, and apply them correctly.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedules, work assignments, travel, and mandatory overtime and weekends when needed.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.
- Proficiency with use of computers, tablets, and smart phones for daily tasks.
We offer flexible scheduling and telecommuting for employees who have successfully completed the probationary period. The candidate may need to report to the office as needed.
