Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents in our long-term care facility. As a member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents, as outlined in their care plans.

You will assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support. You will also aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, document resident interactions, and communicate resident's changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
  • Communicate resident's changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
