Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Thoroughly patrol buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, or safety hazards.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to Code Reds and drills in accordance with fire alarm procedures outlined in the Hospital Fire Plan.
  • Crisis Intervention: Demonstrate good judgment in determining priorities in responding to emergency situations and control disorderly patients in a therapeutic manner.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and factual typed reports and logs of tour of duty.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with departmental or Hospital directives and policy, and strive to be a productive and positive-minded team member of the department and Hospital.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, and sufficient previous experience in security operations.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must be comfortable using a computer and be efficient in data entry, and have the ability to perform job functions outdoors in inclement weather.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods, and have the ability to rapidly climb up five flights of stairs while carrying a ten-pound fire extinguisher.
