Dishwasher Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dishwasher Assistant in our kitchen. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen and ensuring that all dishes, equipment, and utensils are properly sanitized and stored.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen to include serving lines, kitchen equipment, all dishes, tables, etc. before and after each meal
• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
• Load and unload washing machines
• Wash specific items by hand
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Ensure there are enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area including the floors
• Clean dining room tables after meal service

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Goal and team oriented, able to work closely with people while exhibiting a positive attitude
• Well organized and able to work and make sound decisions under pressure and within tight deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Availability to work in shifts, weekends and evenings
• Must pass criminal background check

Working Conditions

• Lifts and carries up to 50lbs on a daily basis
• Reads food and cleaning product labels
• Stands 80% of the time while working
• Kneels, bends, and reaches for items often
• Climbs stairs several times per day
• Works primarily indoors, sometimes in very warm conditions, such as hot kitchens
• Uses commercial kitchen equipment and appliances
