Experience: Minimum 2 years

License: Current RN licensure by the Department of Professional Regulation

Certifications:

  • Current CPR certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Current TNCC certification
  • TNS preferred

Must-Have:

  • Ability to work every third weekend and every other holiday
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Emergency Department (Urgent Care) for a 13-week contract. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Treating patients suffering from trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions requiring urgent care
  • Quickly identifying the best methods to stabilize patients and minimize pain during crisis situations
  • Utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice acts
  • Documenting patient care according to standards
  • Developing, initiating, and executing a patient care plan according to individualized needs as prescribed by a physician or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
  • Participating in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
  • Providing clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
  • Utilizing critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating issues through the appropriate chain of command as necessary
  • Fulfilling special physical demands considered essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, and having the ability to perform tasks involving talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands, and occasionally stooping or kneeling
  • Routinely lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Possessing vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
