Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mill Mechanic to join our team at ASARCO LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and structural parts in the Concentrator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on systems, crushers, ball mills, semi-autogenous mills, screen decks, compressors, filter drums, horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps, flotation, classifiers, and lubrication systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify potential failures, noises, and wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, and gear boxes, and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding (Stick, Tig) as part of maintenance/repairs, and may operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pneumatic air tools, and small mobile equipment.
  • Work Area Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work area, and perform work area inspections to ensure compliance with safety procedures and processes.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Two (2) years' experience in Mill mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Certifications: Certified in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc).
Work Environment
