About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Tech I to join our team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. As a Surgical Tech I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with UMMC and regulatory standards.
  • Provide basic surgical support, including room setup, sterile field management, handling of specimens and instruments, and room turnover.
  • Assess equipment, instrument, and supply needs for surgical procedures and ensure availability.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during surgical procedures.
  • Follow infection control policies, AORN recommendations, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Knowledge of surgical techniques and equipment, as well as UMMC infection control and regulatory sterilization standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
