- Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The University of Missouri Health Care is a prominent academic health system in mid-Missouri, featuring multiple hospitals, including the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center and Children's Hospital, alongside over 50 specialty clinics.
ROLE SUMMARY: The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for upholding the security protocols and procedures of the University of Missouri Health Care. This includes managing traffic and parking regulations on the premises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas as directed by the shift supervisor.
- Issue parking citations for violations and document incidents, disturbances, and thefts accurately.
- Utilize a two-way communication system to relay messages following established radio protocols.
- Maintain a detailed log of all activities during the assigned shift.
- Support law enforcement in monitoring compliance with hospital policies and assist with investigations.
- Provide assistance during emergencies, including responding to alarms and collaborating with the Fire Department.
- Participate in the training of new security personnel and oversee the work of security staff in the absence of the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent experience; valid driver's license.
PREFERRED: Previous experience in security; ability to manage physical demands, including lifting and restraining individuals when necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This role involves active engagement, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 lbs. Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses may occur.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: This job description outlines essential functions and responsibilities, which may evolve over time. Employees are subject to performance evaluations.
