Elevator Modernization Field Supervisor

Your Responsibilities

The selected candidate will oversee field technicians in the daily operations related to the installation of hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations. You will actively engage in field assessments for potential modernization initiatives and contribute to the preparation of modernization proposals and bids. It is essential to accurately assess the scope of work and the workforce required to ensure timely and profitable project completion. A solid understanding of elevator components and the ability to identify the necessary parts for various project aspects is crucial, along with the responsibility of ordering these components.

Key duties include:
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment by guiding field technicians
  • Overseeing the training and development of field technicians in accordance with established processes, tools, and standards
  • Encouraging effective communication among team members while maintaining positive relationships with local unions
  • Ensuring that each modernization project adheres to company quality and safety standards, as well as all contractual obligations
  • Monitoring project completion and promoting efficiency
  • Implementing customer and company standards for quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety in modernization projects
  • Assisting the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and addressing customer concerns
  • Promoting a culture of teamwork and commitment to quality among all staff
  • Participating in company-sponsored professional development programs to enhance knowledge of elevator products, services, and procedures
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering, Management, Supervision, or Business is required. Alternatively, Journeyman Technician experience with a minimum of 5 years in the field is acceptable.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the elevator industry, construction sector, or a related building systems field.
  • Previous experience in the installation and servicing of elevators/escalators is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, Lotus Notes, and SAP is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
