Physics Lecturer Position

We are seeking experienced and well-organized individuals to teach introductory and upper-division physics courses at California State University, Fullerton. The Department of Physics invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool, and we are looking for qualified candidates to join our team.
About the PositionThis is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
Required QualificationsTo be eligible for this position, applicants must have a Master's or PhD degree in Physics or a related field, or equivalent experience. Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred, as is relevant performance and professional experience.
Preferred QualificationsWe prefer candidates with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment. This position requires the ability to teach introductory and upper-division physics courses, including Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Modern Physics, Analytical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, and Statistical Physics.

About the College and the DepartmentThe College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at CSU Fullerton is one of the eight colleges at CSUF and contains five departments. The college offers through its departments and programs, baccalaureate degrees in all disciplines and master's degrees in biological science, chemistry, geology, physics, and mathematics.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is estimated to be between $5,007 and $6,359 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,008.40 to $7,110 per semester. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan, and access to the university's wellness program.
Appointment and EvaluationAppointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments.
