Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Specialist to join our team at The Building People, LLC. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of facilities to ensure they remain in good working condition.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising and training maintenance technicians, preparing weekly maintenance schedules, and allocating work. You will also inspect facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance, hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance, and contribute to the development of the maintenance budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train maintenance technicians to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Prepare and manage weekly maintenance schedules to ensure that all facilities are properly maintained.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify potential problems and develop plans for maintenance and repair.
  • Hire and supervise tradesmen as needed for installations, repairs, or maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget to ensure that we have the resources needed to maintain our facilities.
Requirements

To be successful as a Maintenance Operations Specialist, you will need to have a strong technical background and excellent leadership and communication skills. You should have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully managing maintenance teams and budgets.

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and more.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct maintenance technicians.
  • Ability to prepare and manage budgets, with a focus on cost control and resource allocation.
  • Proven experience with contract negotiations and vendor oversight.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible schedule that may include after-hours and on-call shifts.
