About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer 3 to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with project managers to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Leverage technical knowledge, experience, and client relationships to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentor, train, and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, and/or AutoCad.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, hydrologic modeling software, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of water resources engineering.
  • Ability to manage time, proactively forecast, and communicate project development needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).
