Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Bilingual Teacher Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting the lead teacher in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Supporting the administration of assessments and assignments to students.

  • Helping with the inventory and upkeep of educational equipment.
  • Assisting in keeping accurate administrative records and preparing necessary reports.
  • Conducting instructional activities as directed by the teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
  • Supervising students throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess.
  • Communicating any special needs or concerns regarding individual students to the teacher.
  • Participating in professional development training to enhance job performance.
  • Engaging in faculty meetings and special events as required.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of student records and attendance.
  • Performing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ensuring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Work Environment:
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level. This position requires travel throughout the district, and remote work is not an option for campus-based roles. Regular attendance and the ability to perform all duties on-site are essential.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate Degree or 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of an academic assessment.
  • A valid educational aide certificate.
  • Preferred experience of at least six months in a related role or completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants.
  • A demonstrated understanding of child development and behavior.
  • The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the evolving educational landscape.
  • A commitment to staying updated with the latest developments in the field.
