Position Overview:
As a Bilingual Teacher Assistant for grades K-5, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational process within the classroom. Your contributions will enhance the learning environment and ensure that students receive the guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Bilingual Teacher Assistant, your duties will include:
- Assisting the lead teacher in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Supporting the administration of assessments and assignments to students.
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Helping with the inventory and upkeep of educational equipment.
- Assisting in keeping accurate administrative records and preparing necessary reports.
- Conducting instructional activities as directed by the teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
- Supervising students throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess.
- Communicating any special needs or concerns regarding individual students to the teacher.
- Participating in professional development training to enhance job performance.
- Engaging in faculty meetings and special events as required.
- Assisting in the maintenance of student records and attendance.
- Performing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensuring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level. This position requires travel throughout the district, and remote work is not an option for campus-based roles. Regular attendance and the ability to perform all duties on-site are essential.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate Degree or 48 college credit hours, or successful completion of an academic assessment.
- A valid educational aide certificate.
- Preferred experience of at least six months in a related role or completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants.
- A demonstrated understanding of child development and behavior.
- The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving educational landscape.
- A commitment to staying updated with the latest developments in the field.
