Diesel Technician/Mechanic: Roadside Repair Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team at Penske Truck Leasing. As a key member of our roadside repair team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers who require assistance with their trucks.
Job SummaryThis role involves diagnosing and repairing various maintenance issues on trucks in all weather conditions while adhering to strict safety protocols. You must have prior experience in tractor trailer repair and proficiency in using a range of tools and equipment.
Responsibilities- Respond promptly to road assist calls and repair units by identifying parts that need replacement and documenting warrantable repairs.
- Perform diagnostics and non-road assist call repairs as needed.
- Restock rapid assist vehicles with tools, parts, tires, and other necessary supplies.
- Maintain the condition of road assist vehicles through regular inspections and repairs.
- Assist with designated in-shop repairs as directed by your supervisor.
- Participate in other projects and tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements- Minimum 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
- Specialized training in vehicle component repair and replacement preferred.
- Proficiency in shop tool use required.
- Current CDL license with air brake certification required.
- Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
- Ability to work safely in non-climate-controlled environments required.

Work EnvironmentThis position requires working in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a high level of alertness. Regular attendance and a strong commitment to safety are essential requirements for this role.
Physical Requirements- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting throughout the scheduled working period.
- Daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or operate required tools or controls.
- Ability to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
- Adaptability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Clear vision and hearing to navigate the work environment safely.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
