POSITION: Resident Care Assistant

REPORTS TO: Health and Wellness Director

FLSA: Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resident Care Assistant is responsible for delivering essential personal care and support services to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living activities, recreational programming, housekeeping, and meal service, all in accordance with established standards and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement daily care plans addressing the personal needs of residents.
  • Facilitate scheduled activities for residents.
  • Assist residents during meal times.
  • Maintain awareness of residents' locations within the facility.
  • Actively listen and respond to the needs of residents and team members.
  • Monitor residents' health status and communicate any changes to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Promote the independence and dignity of residents.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Notify the Health and Wellness Director of any supply or equipment needs.
  • Provide constructive feedback regarding departmental operations.
  • Participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed.
  • Support a calm and positive atmosphere.
  • Complete assigned tasks promptly and follow the established chain of command.
  • Report any unusual resident behaviors to the Health and Wellness Director.
  • Understand and uphold residents' rights.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Other related duties as assigned to ensure the success of the community and the well-being of residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
  • STNA/CNA certification (Preferred).
  • CPR Certification (Preferred).
  • Proficient understanding of the English language for effective communication.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing tasks both indoors and outdoors.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights ranging from 0-100 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs and bending.
  • Occasional twisting and reaching.
