We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify patient information and health history, charting it into the medical record as reported by the patient.
- Assist providers in exam rooms, including assisting with minor surgical procedures, surgical tray setup, pre/post-surgical patient care, and suture removal.
- Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient's electronic health record.
- Properly utilize the computer system for patient registration, appointment scheduling, ordering lab tests, receiving specimens, and other tasks.
- Perform EKGs, Point of Care testing, phlebotomy, handle specimens, perform dressing changes, and complete other duties specific to certain specialties.
- Receive patient phone calls, relay patient questions to providers, return patient calls at the direction of providers, check patients in and out for appointments, schedule patient appointments, send/receive medical records, and enter outside lab results into the electronic medical record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Partial college education preferred.
- At least one year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.
- Experience in an Allergy Clinic preferred.
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
