Job Title: Extended Day Teacher

Job Summary:

The Waldorf School of Lexington is seeking a qualified Extended Day Teacher to join our team. As an Extended Day Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and leading afternoon activities for students in grades 1-5.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Lead Afternoon Activities: Develop and implement engaging afternoon programs that promote socialization, creativity, and physical activity for students in grades 1-5.
  • Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during afternoon hours, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Room Setup and Maintenance: Prepare and maintain the classroom environment, including setting up materials, cleaning, and performing general maintenance tasks.
  • Communication and Referral: Address parental concerns, questions, or incidents, and refer serious matters to school administration.
  • Assist with School Dismissal: Assist with the dismissal process, directing traffic and guiding parents and children safely to cars in the side parking lot.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Interest in Waldorf Education: A genuine interest in Waldorf education and a willingness to learn and grow in this educational approach.
