Position Overview

Become a part of our mission to provide compassionate care during critical times.

At Gentiva, we believe in personalizing care to enhance comfort and dignity for our patients. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), your responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager, while working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Assisting patients in maintaining personal hygiene and a safe living environment.
  • Preparing and serving light meals, and aiding in feeding when necessary.
  • Supporting patients with mobility, including the safe use of walkers or wheelchairs.
  • Conducting light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable space.
  • Engaging patients in activities to promote mental alertness and providing emotional support to both patients and their families.
  • Documenting any changes in the patient's condition and reporting them to the healthcare team.
  • Participating in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A genuine compassion for patients and their families.
  • The ability to provide care in various settings.
  • Flexibility and composure in challenging situations.
  • A valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
  • At least six months of experience in patient care, preferably in hospice, home health, or similar environments.
  • A current driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.
