Preferred License:

  • Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • OR Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures using proper techniques tailored to the patient's age and ability to understand.
  • Ensure quality imaging is achieved by addressing any issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if necessary.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals as per established protocols and regulations.
  • Monitor patient conditions continually and respond to any changes in status.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies in the clinical nuclear medicine rooms.
