Key Responsibilities- Utilize various radiation therapy equipment while adhering to established safety protocols.
- Accurately interpret physician prescriptions, diagnoses, and treatment charts.
- Ensure patient identification is verified through two sources before each treatment.
- Maintain constant communication with patients during their treatment sessions.
- Conduct daily warm-ups and quality assurance checks on linear accelerators and CT simulators, documenting all findings.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide clear explanations of treatment processes to patients and their families.
- Schedule and organize daily treatments and simulations, accommodating patient needs.
- Handle patient interactions with professionalism, empathy, and care.
- Document all treatments and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with established standards.
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have graduated from an accredited radiation oncology program. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy is required, or candidates must be board eligible.
Essential Skills- Proficiency in performing complex technical tasks acquired through clinical experience.
- Ability to maintain state licensure as mandated by health regulations.
- Commitment to following infection prevention policies and procedures.
