We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Resource Teacher to join our team at Richmond Elementary. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing appropriate instruction to elementary students and ensuring that they meet the learning objectives and standards for the appropriate grade level.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement Kanawha County Schools' standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
- Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
- Implement 21ST Century technology skills.
- Plan and implement collaborative model with special education students and teachers.
- May be responsible for planning & implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school.
- Be accountable for individual student achievement.
- Plan and implement personalized learning for all students.
- Strong working/communication skills with students, parents and peers.
- Willing to implement any other programs designated by principal for school improvement.
- Maintain classroom control.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2. A criminal background check will be conducted, and the candidate must meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level is low to moderate dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums and vocational/technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud dB).
