Interventionist Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Interventionist Teacher to join our team at Metro Nashville Public Schools. As an Interventionist Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing direct, explicit research-based interventions to students who require additional support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct, explicit, evidence-based academic, social-emotional, and behavioral interventions to students in addition to core instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Functional Behavioral Assessments & Behavioral Intervention Plans.
- Provide intensive intervention with fidelity and progress monitor all students receiving intensive intervention in academics, social-emotional, and behavior.
- Utilize naturally occurring data to inform instruction, intervention, and Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
- Ensure students with IEPs participate in Universal Screening Process and required statewide tests with accommodations.
- Manage and provide inclusive support in general education settings for students with needs.
- Attend grade-level/content meetings to assist with planning access to core instruction and inclusive supports.
- Coordinate delivery of services for students with disabilities with related service providers.
- Develop and implement IEPs for students and ensure service delivery and progress in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Certificate or license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with a Special Education Interventionist K-8 endorsement (144) and/or Special Education Interventionist 6-12 endorsement (145) required.
- Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of special education principles, practices, and procedures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with parents, educators, and students.
- Instructional strategies that connect curriculum to learners.
- Student management and presentation skills.
- Organization, data-based decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of U.S. Department of Education's Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or similar federal regulation.
