Ophthalmology Physician

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmology Physician to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System in Manhattan. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting eye exams, and performing surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions
- Perform surgical procedures, including examinations before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery
- Provide health education and counseling, and establish preventive health practices
- Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams, and specialty consults as necessary
- Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care, and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists in regards to high-risk or complex patients
- Supervise optometrists from time to time
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
- Provide case management with other healthcare team members
- Medical degree from an accredited university
- Ability to obtain a New York license
- Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology
- Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills
- Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare
Salary range from $290,000 to $320,000 (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits)
Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need.
