Job Summary

The City of Roswell, Georgia seeks a highly skilled Administrative Clerk II to provide specialized administrative support to the Court services department. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including processing documents, conducting records searches, and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process documents, including inputs, data generation, and records searches
  • Prepare, copy, and distribute letters, notices, subpoenas, and fines
  • Process and record payments, fees, and fines, and enter data into a computer system
  • Assign cases and prepare reports
  • Review and prepare the court calendar, coordinate translator assignments, and testify during court hearings as required
  • Conduct routine office support functions, including receiving, screening, and directing incoming telephone calls, sorting and distributing mail, and maintaining inventory of office materials and supplies
  • Research problems and initiate problem resolutions
  • Provide customer service to police officers, other courts, outside agencies, and the general public
  • Maintain legally mandated logs of intakes and releases, verify identification and custody of each intake, and process documentation associated with department/division operations
  • Prepare or complete various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, and maintain computerized and/or hardcopy records
  • Use computer programs, software, and applications to maintain documents, organize cases and calendar dockets, communicate with team members, and perform other related duties

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by two years of experience in a court system, law enforcement, or corrections, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 words per minute and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn, comprehend, and apply all city or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position
  • Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data, and exercise discretion in determining data classification and referencing analysis to established standards
  • Ability to apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others in coordinating activities of a project, program, or designated area of responsibility
  • Ability to operate, maneuver, and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions
  • Ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, calculate decimals and percentages
  • Ability to apply principles of rational systems, interpret written and verbal instructions, and exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives
  • Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria

Work Environment:

The work is sedentary to light, requiring the ability to exert light physical effort, but involving some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station, and require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
