Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with essential stakeholders and officials from various organizations, including collaboration with local authorities to secure necessary certifications and permits.
  • Oversee and guide intricate TxDOT CEI projects, providing solutions and recommendations tailored to client needs. Define tasks for team members and ensure thorough supervision, review, and approval of project deliverables.
  • Manage contracts and projects, ensuring effective organization, execution, and coordination of assignments.
  • Develop and oversee project scope, budget, timeline, and quality assurance for CEI initiatives from initial proposal through to final outputs.
  • Plan CEI crew schedules and coordinate with other departments to ensure optimal allocation of personnel and resources to meet project timelines.
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to throughout the CEI process.
  • Utilize project management software to monitor project tasks and timelines, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Be prepared for travel, primarily within Texas, with occasional out-of-state assignments, typically around 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with TxDOT CEI processes, including marketing, procurement, and proposals for statewide projects.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience, particularly in making independent decisions regarding engineering challenges and methodologies. Familiarity with TxDOT specifications and standards is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, regulatory authorities, and construction personnel.
  • Strong financial management capabilities.
  • Experience in preparing detailed and comprehensive reports.
  • Understanding and implementation of safety standards within the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SiteManager, and Primavera software.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, adapting to shifting project priorities and client demands.
  • Capability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, engineers, governmental agencies, and the public.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including travel requirements.
  • Successful candidates must pass a drug screening, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record in line with company policies.
