Job Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting and overseeing the financial operations of Channellock, Inc. This position is integral to managing the organization's accounting functions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and analysis of financial reports, including bank reconciliations and General Ledger assessments, while providing actionable insights for operational enhancements.
  • Compile documentation for year-end audits.
  • Support cost analysis and reporting to optimize financial performance.
  • Oversee inventory management and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and review payroll tax returns on a quarterly and annual basis, addressing tax inquiries and audits, including year-end tax forms.
  • Facilitate various tax payments while staying informed about relevant tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes to guarantee timely and precise financial reporting.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in business practices and internal controls to uphold the integrity of financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Initiate electronic bank transactions and authorize payments for various financial activities.
  • Conduct financial analyses necessary for insurance policy renewals.
  • Analyze monthly investment activities.
  • Prepare annual reports on Unclaimed Property and monitor check clearing processes.
  • Manage fixed asset records.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong emphasis on tax compliance and financial accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively across different departments.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and collaborate effectively with team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll and/or accounting roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience specializing in tax accounting.
