Job Title: Fetal Echocardiography Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fetal Echocardiography Specialist to join our team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our maternal-fetal sonography team, you will be responsible for administering sound patient care practices, completing ancillary tasks, and maintaining equipment and exam rooms in a neat and safe condition.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical maternal-fetal history and informed consent.
  • Assist physicians in performing CVS, Amniocentesis, and image optimization studies using departmental protocols.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper sterile techniques and isolation precautions.
  • Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems in maternal-fetal patients and take appropriate action to resolve them.
Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program and Cervical Length Assessment Program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology certification.
  • Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies.
  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasonography or a graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound school with a specialty of five plus years on-the-job training in a hospital performing specialized sonograms.
