Job Title: Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD). As a Substitute LPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to our students, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

About the Role:

The Substitute LPN will work closely with our supervising nurse to carry out prescribed orders and meet the medical needs of our students. You will be a member of our student health services team, providing care and support to our students in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care to students.
  • Direct care of students' health needs, including verbal and nonverbal students who may require alternative methods of communication.
  • Prepare and dispense prescribed medications, perform treatments, and complete documentation and medical records.
  • Participate in the formulation, development, implementation, and evaluation of health care plans for students.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Valid Oregon Practical Nurse License.
  • Current CPR/1st aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Knowledge of pediatric nursing and ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to provide emotional support to students.
