Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler & Inventory Coordinator to join our team at TriMas Corporation. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Count and verify incoming materials against work order quantities
  • Accept and verify materials, including quantity, part number, and description
  • Verify work orders are filled completely
  • Fulfill order kitting by locating materials and verifying against Syteline inventory status
  • Maintain inventory transactions accuracy to 98%
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in proper stock locations
  • Maintain system and records necessary for material inventory control and tracking
  • Maintain tally sheets and report discrepancies to production control
  • Meet production daily requirements in accordance with production control needs
  • Work with production control to adjust for production scheduling changes and meet daily production standards
  • Participate in problem-solving, team building, and other team activities to improve processes, productivity, quality, etc.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to read and write English
  • Ability to use personal computer and related software applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute material and supplies
  • Ability to prepare routine production reports and other department documentation
  • Ability to read shop work orders
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations, including fractions and decimals, as required by material handling and weighing operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years' work experience in warehouse/shipping/receiving operations or equivalent skills and knowledge expertise
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory control methods
Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse/shipping environment with a machine shop where noise, exposure to outside weather conditions, and repetitive nature of the job are less desirable than in a typical office environment.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to lift over 25 pounds, strength in opening and maneuvering crates, boxes, and raw materials, and the ability to reach, bend, stretch, and manipulate small parts with hands and fingers.
