Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) as an Expert Rotating Machinery Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will lead a test team and execute performance testing and analysis of equipment and components across the PG&E system with a focus on hydro powerhouses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead tests and coordinate scope with internal clients
  • Develop test protocols and designs on complex systems to meet project objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare technical reports and identify, define, and solve problems
  • Evaluate performance of parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated or actual operating conditions, and record results
  • Compile project test results, prepare presentations, and recommendations for clients and/or ATS leadership
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with an emphasis on related discipline (i.e., Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering)
  • Seven years of related experience
  • Hydro power generation experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • P.E. license
  • Startup testing of hydro powerhouses
  • Demonstrated experience in plant engineering testing concepts and methods
  • Experience in the application of predictive maintenance tools
Work Environment

This role will involve a mix of independent work environment and small team environment. The successful candidate will be required to work in an office and field environment, which may involve walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to adverse weather and noise. Overnight travel of up to 50% may be required, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
